I started working out with John Duncan back in 2004. He helped me get in shape before I left to join the military. After a few short months in the gym with him, I was stronger and faster than I had ever been in my life. John helped push and motivate me to the point where I was excelling in every aspect of physical fitness.

As a united states navy seal, I am expected to be in peak physical shape on and off the job. Whenever I come back home on leave (which is usually for 2-3 weeks at a time) the first person I contact is John to see when I can jump in on classes. I attend TUFF’s CrossFit and bootcamp classes at least 3 times a week in addition to one-on-one sessions with John to keep up my workouts while I’m visiting. The best part about the classes is the variety of the exercises.

The workouts are never the same and each experience is challenging. Each individual there can work at their own levels. Another great aspect is, that with John’s motivating, I am able to move at my own pace and push myself to exceed my own abilities. I never leave with a dry spot on my shirt. When I am back home in San Diego, CA, I model my workouts based on what I have learned from John. Keeping the fast pace movements and variety of exercises keeps my heart pumping and works every part of my body.

I am proud to say that it has kept my body in the proper shape it needs to be in while training on the job. Military life is very demanding and in my opinion and part of professional conduct as an operator means being capable to go above and beyond physical standards.
